Merrily Dee Minardi, a member of the Sustainable Treasure Coast support team, is currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in Finance at Florida Atlantic University.  Her first university experience as a chemistry major led to a job as a research assistant for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in the mid-seventies.  An entrepreneurial spirit caused her to leave that position in 1977 to found a retail/service business in Fort Pierce, Florida, where she acted as partner and general manager until retirement in 2005.

As an active volunteer, Merrily has been associated with several nonprofit and environmental organizations over the years.  She was a founding Board Member and Secretary of the Fort Pierce Downtown Business Association, where she also served as liaison to the board of Main Street Fort Pierce and developed, produced, and/or coordinated several special events including Wheels on the Waterfront Classic Car Show.  She currently chairs the Garden Ambassador Committee for Heathcote Botanical Gardens and edits the group’s electronic newsletter.

Merrily re-entered college full-time in 2006 and that year earned an A.A. and an A.S. in legal assistance from Indian River Community College before transferring to the FAU College of Business.  After graduation, she aims to combine her business experience, education, and financial aptitude in a professional environment.
